Qatar Air Force acquires 24 Rafale aircraft

Representatives from Qatar and Dassault Aviation will meet Monday to sign a contract for the purchase of 24 Rafale aircrafts to bolster Qatar’s Air Force.

French president Francois Hollande also will attend the meeting.

The Rafale is just one of the new additions to the Qatar Air Force, including the Alpha Jet, the Mirage F1 and the Mirage 2000. This new acquisition will create a historic partnership between France, Dassault Aviation and Qatar.

Dassault Aviation is also partnered with Safran and Thales and 500 other companies that are associated with its program. This new contract has delighted all of the representatives involved in these companies as it is testimony to the company’s knowledge of technology and the aviation industry.

During the last 60 years, Dassault Aviation has provided 90 countries with more than 8,000 civilian and military aircraft that have logged a record-breaking 28 million flight hours.

"This new success for the French team demonstrates the Rafale's operational qualities and confirms the confidence that countries, that are already users of the Mirage 2000, have in our company,” Dassault Aviation Chairman and CEO Eric Trappier said.
