United Arab Emirates leaders to further strategic partnerships with Virtual Global Taskforce countries

Leaders throughout communities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) anticipate the further development of strategic partnerships with member countries involved in the Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT).

The leaders recently attended the 6th Forum for Knowledge and Expertise Exchange, commonly known as the Knowledge Forum, was titled “The Sexual Exploitation of Children on the Internet” for this year’s meeting.

The event was opened by Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, the secretary general of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, as well as the chairman of the Higher Committee for Child Protection at the Ministry of the Interior and the elected president of the VGT.

The secretary general emphasized that communities in the UAE have already taken proactive steps to protect children against potential abuse attempts. Part of these proactive steps include further developing strategic partnerships between the VGT member countries. These partnerships span a range of industries and fields to guarantee that children are protected against exploitation. The goal is to make the Internet a safe, useful place for children.

“The Ministry of Interior has joined the VGT based on the commitment to implement and achieve the goals of the VGT,” he said.

The Forensic Evidence Hall of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) hosted the forum.
