Construction recently started on Abu Dhabi University’s (ADU) new $9.5 million residential facilities for new staff and faculty on the institute’s ever-growing campus.

The new housing will be home to more than 60 new employees who will swell the ranks of the university’s staff and faculty in the upcoming academic year.

New staff is needed to meet the demands of the constantly increasing student population enrolling in Abu Dhabi University’s 31 undergraduate and 17 postgraduate programs offered at campuses in both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. To meet that demand, ADU has been recruiting candidates from prestigious universities and research centers around the world.

ADU’s chairman, Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, said the institute has been recruiting new staff members with international experience in teaching and scientific research, which should enrich the university’s already impressive academic team.

“Bringing in additional renowned academic leaders and faculty members will reflect positively on the academic outputs of Abu Dhabi University’s programs, elevating them to an international level that allows them to compete globally and meet the needs of the policy agenda of Abu Dhabi’s government and its economic vision 2030,” Al Dhaheri said.

The 60 new residences under construction will add to ADU’s current 103 on-campus faculty and staff accommodation units, and 101 off-campus units in both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
