Number of Emiratis studying in the US increases 23%

According to the latest U.S. report on international academic mobility, the number of Emirati high school graduates pursuing college studies in the United States increased 23.4 percent in 2014.

More than 90 percent of those students are on a scholarship, with the majority coming from a public school background. Student mobility has increased due to government scholarships available to students at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The Abu Dhabi Education Council's Guidance and Scholarship Division offers students from the UAE the opportunity to gain international knowledge and experience through a suite of international scholarships designed to support their academic studies abroad. Currently, more than 1,300 students have joined the program in the UAE and abroad. About 100 scholars graduate every year from leading universities.

Supported by the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Education USA will host representatives from 25 American universities who will offer educational advice to visitors Oct. 27-29 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Iowa State University, Saint Louis University and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University are some of the universities that will be present.
