Doka Muscat, the Omani iteration of the Austrian-based international concrete formwork firm, was recognized for its innovative concrete technologies at the Dossier Construction Awards and Summit last week.

Doka took home the prize for “Most Innovative Concrete Quality Assurance System,” an award received in recognition of the forward-thinking nature of the firm’s Concremote device.

Concremote is inserted into wet concrete as it’s poured into a form, measuring the hydration and temperature of the concrete throughout its lifespan which gives real-time data on potential weaknesses in the concrete. The device allows Doka Muscat consultants to take preventative action before a concrete slab or form develops heat-induced cracks.

Mohamed Haneefa, Doka Muscat sales manager, said the company is delighted to be honored with the Dossier award.

“As a company, innovation remains a top priority, so we’re particularly delighted this has been acknowledged by a regional publication such as Dossier,” Haneefa said.

This year’s Dossier Construction Awards and Summit mark’s the third year Oman’s construction industry has gathered for the occasion. The construction, real estate and infrastructure-focused event puts focus on the achievements of top industry performers in the Sultanate. Doka Muscat was honored with the award for "Best Innovative Formwork System” at last year’s event.
