Kuwaiti students introduced to engineering at Airbus robotics workshop

Fifty Kuwait City students interested in engineering had the opportunity to try their skills at robotics with a little help from Airbus and Kuwait Airlines Thursday.

The Airbus Little Engineer workshop brought together students from fifth to seventh grades to attract them to careers in the science and technology fields.

The Kuwait Airlines and Airbus-sponsored event introduced students to the basic components and operations of sensors and motors, letting students explore how machines operate in real-world environments.

The students were given group tasks to develop team skills while using their imaginations to find creative solutions to solve technical problems.

Kuwait Airways Chair and Managing Director Rasha Abdulaziz Al-Roumi said the company hopes the program will inspire young Kuwaitis to consider careers in aviation technology.

“The Airbus Little Engineer Workshop is an excellent contribution to the development of Kuwait’s aviation sector, because the future lies in the hands of our students,” Al-Roumi sad. “By sharing international technical expertise with the next generation we are cementing a formidable future for young Kuwaitis by inspiring them to be part of this great industry.”

Growing the number of skilled aviation technicians is an important task for Kuwait, which is set to see record growth in airline traffic in coming years.
