Dur Hospitality to expand airport hotel in Riyadh

Riyadh-based Dur Hospitality Company (DHC) will invest $32 million in an expansion of the Makarem Arriyadh Hotel at King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh following an agreement signed recently with the General Authority of Civil Aviation.

The agreement extends the current deal for 20 years and includes DHC's plans to add 100 rooms and a spa to the hotel and facilitate an international branding campaign.

"We are proud to announce the renewal of our agreement with the General Authority of Civil Aviation and we look forward to the continuance of this successful relationship based on mutual trust through upgrading our experience together and providing a new concept through an international hotel brand," DHC CEO Badr Al-Badr said. "The signing of the agreement represents an important step toward our ambitious development plans of the hospitality industry in Saudi Arabia, and we are committed to providing upscale hotel services that suits our customers' requirements."

Airport Director Yousef Al-Abdan said the airport is eager to do what it can to continue supporting growth in Saudi tourism.

"We are delighted to extend our relationship with Dur Hospitality Company and we look forward to offering more support and encouragement toward the continuity of this fruitful partnership that witnessed a remarkable success over the past few years, and we are expecting even more prosperity, thanks to the huge efforts exerted and to the high expertise and enlightened vision," he said.
