Abu Dhabi Ship Building, Drydocks World form new venture

Abu Dhabi Ship Building and Drydocks World have signed a memorandum of understanding on a joint industrial venture.
Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) and Drydocks World have signed a memorandum of understanding on a joint industrial venture aimed at providing comprehensive maritime services to the UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council. 

The agreement opens a door for sharing information, experience and capability between the two companies. ADSB CEO Khaled Al Mazrouei and Drydocks World President and Chief Operating Officer C.S Kim were at the signing. 

“This agreement is a testament of ADSB’s regional naval and commercial maritime expertise," Al Mazrouei said. "We are excited to partner with Drydocks World. It will open new horizons for establishing cooperation between our two companies and will support the national economy in maritime services. I am confident in the success of our new partnership offering best-in-class naval and commercial vessel maintenance services to the GCC and beyond.”

ADSB provides construction, repair and refit services for military and commercial vessels.

Kim said Drydocks World, which provides maritime services to the shipping, offshore, oil, gas and energy sectors, is looking forward to the quality control ADSB brings to the partnership.

“Drydocks World is investing in quality management systems to improve efficacy of our navigational and maritime services that will shape the future of the industry, locally and internationally," Kim said. "Our strategy is to promote the value of quality and become and even more globally competitive company. Together with ADSB we will offer the best international quality for years to come.”
