UAE's telecom, IT and health care sectors are seeing job growth, a recent study by job-search engine Monster.com indicates.

Using its monthly employment-index data, Monster monitored five years of online job postings in 11 occupational categories across 12 industries in Gulf Cooperation Council nations and Egypt.

“Looking at the past five years, we have seen a lot of fluctuations in the job market in the UAE, with the global financial crisis shaking up the economy,” Monster.com Managing Director for India, the Middle East, Southeast Asis and Hong Kong Sanjay Modi said. "Employer hiring activity was growing at an average rate of 16 percent in 2015. This is significant when viewed against a backdrop of prolonged economic turbulences and shows how successful the Emirates has been in diversifying the economy when expanding the non-oil sector over the past couple of years."

IT and telecom jobs were the most robust, posting annual growth in online recruitment of 23 percent. Officials expect this trend to continue as the smart-cities concept is embraced across the UAE and leaders look to implement increasingly tech-based solutions.

The health care job market also experienced significant growth, with an annual average  increase in hiring of 21 percent. Modi said this is largely due to the UAE's status as a choice destination for medical tourism and cosmetic treatments.

Modi said the UAE's retail, tourism, hospitality and logistics sectors are also looking up, as businesses prepare for Dubai to host World Expo 2020.
