The Mohammed Bin Rashid University (MBRU) of Medicine and Health Sciences announced the opening of its College of Medicine at the recent Arab Health Exhibition and Congress.
The new college will expand the university's offerings at its campus in the Dubai Healthcare City complex by offering six-year bachelor's degree programs in medicine and surgery to 50 students beginning in September.
"By providing high-quality undergraduate education, we put in place a plan to ensure the continued evolution and growth of the health care workforce," Dubai Healthcare City Authority Vice Chairperson and Executive Director Raja Al Gurg said. "There has been dedicated effort and enthusiasm into the establishment of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences and its Colleges."
College of Medicine Dean Alawi Alsheikh-Ali said the college's programs will aim to distinguish themselves based on real-world relevance.
"Students interested in a career in medicine will benefit from the teaching approach that focuses on instructional and institutional excellence and innovation," Alsheikh-Ali said. "The College of Medicine at MBRU aims to provide integrated medical education and research that is nationally responsive and globally connected."
Applications for the college's opening term are available on the school's website and are due by March 31.
