Construction in Bahrain was the focus of a recent meeting for the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce Quarters.

Two sectors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce -- the construction and the real estate committees -- hosted a joint meeting in Bait Al Tijjar to discuss previous construction laws, provisions to those laws and concerns from both groups.

The groups specifically discussed law number 24 for the year 2009, which notes provisions for construction. They also dealt with challenges that concern both sectors and planned for a follow-up meeting on Feb. 17. That meeting will address the new provisions for Bahrain’s construction and delve into the challenges that may derive from those mandatory changes.

Leaders from both sides -- including Isa Al Refaei, treasurer of the construction sector committee and Hasan Kamal, head of the real estate committee -- strongly noted the importance of letting relevant authorities know about the outcome of the Feb. 17 meeting. The two men encouraged the groups to continue to engage in meetings and business practices that will help boost the national economy.
