BBK (Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait) recently promoted Reyadh Yousif Sater, the deputy chief executive of the bank's business group,  to serve as BBK's new chief executive.

Sater is taking over for Karim Bucheery, who has retired from the chief executive position after eight years.

"I would like to convey my deep appreciation to the board for the trust they place in me," Sater said. "It is a great honor for me to be appointed chief executive for such a leading organisation."

Sater has been with BBK for over three decades. He helped expand BBK's local and international presence and was tasked with overseeing various aspects of the company including retail, corporate and investment banking. Sater also is a certified internal auditor.

"Sater is a long-time banking veteran," BBK Chairman Murad Ali Murad said. "We are confident that BBK, and under his leadership, will continue on its path of success, maintaining its pioneering position in the market while expanding and diversifying its offering."
