The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has teamed up with IBM to launch the DubaiStartupHub (DSH), an online platform on IBM Cloud.

The newly launched DSH unites startups, entrepreneurs, developers, venture capitalists and students, allowing them to make new connections and partnerships and learn about new opportunities.

“The DubaiStartupHub consolidates the concept of a smarter community by offering comprehensive information and services aligned to Dubai government’s strategic directions on smart cities,” Hamad Buamim, president and CEO of the Dubai Chamber, said.

The hub allows the community to interact with cloud technology in new ways and has special offers to join IBM’s Global Entrepreneur Program, which provides mentoring, support and access to development tools.

The DubaiStartupHub is the first of its kind in the Middle East and Africa; it operates under the umbrella of Dubai Smart City.

“The priority is to support entrepreneurs and help them to adopt latest smart technologies for the success and advancement of their business, while supporting the economic growth of Dubai,” Aisha Bin Bishr, director general of Smart Dubai Office, said. "Entrepreneurship is a focus area within our smart economy dimension, and the DubaiStartupHub initiative will provide a rich set of services to entrepreneurs in Dubai and the region."
