The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry put together an interactive workshop to introduce and explain the new Commercial Companies Law (CCL).

The chamber aims to aid companies in interpreting the new law and worked with Hadef & Partners LLC law firm to produce the workshop.

Legal consultants, investors, contract specialists, business owners, general managers and Dubai Chamber members attended the event, Navigating the New Commercial Companies Law – A Practical Guide. The workshop was able to educate attendees on the overarching commercial implications and how to operate within the country using the new Commercial Companies Law.

“The new UAE Commercial Companies Law No. 2 of 2015, which came into force in July last year, brought with it a range of provisions offering opportunities for companies while there are also key challenges concerning compliance to the new law,” Jehad Kazim, director of legal services, Dubai Chamber, said. “Therefore, it’s imperative for all types of companies coming under the law to understand how it impacts their operations.”

The workshop was supported by Head of Clients Relations, Hadef & Partners LLC Antonia Lewry, and led by Head of Corporate Regulatory and Licensing Bilal Snaineh and Victoria Woods, head of commercial.

“We hope the delegates found the workshop both interesting and informative, and leave the event better able to advise and support their businesses with the implementation of the new CCL,” Lewry said. “Moreover, we are delighted to support the Dubai Chamber and their initiatives which benefit not only the participants today, but the wider business community.”

Training events and learning workshops are regularly planned by the Dubai Chamber to support regional businesses in their growth and trade throughout the area.
