Leaders discuss importance of Italy, Saudi Arabia business exchanges

The Italian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Luca Ferrari, met with the Chairperson of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Dr. Abdulrahman Al Zamil at Zamil’s office to discuss different ways the two countries can work together to strengthen their economic and trade partnerships. 

Acting Secretary General of CSC Eng. Omar Bahlaiwa also attended the meeting.

Italy is one of the largest trade partners to Saudi Arabia, and Al Zamil noted the specific collaboration between Italy and the Kingdom in order to make both economies grow. He additionally noted that key sectors needed more development by the Saudi-Italian Business Council, as it is the council’s role to increase bilateral trade. Joint ventures and productive partnerships were also discussed as a need. Al Zamil pointed to the industries of tourism, health care, energy, training, infrastructure, financial services and many more as those that needed to most work toward growth.

During the meeting, Ferrari mentioned the continuous growth between the two countries in terms of positive economic relationships and spoke on the importance of continuing to cultivate those relationships. He noted that both countries must play an active role in delving into new ways to grow business and trade. Lastly, the Italian Ambassador said he would make himself available to help with any issues Saudi investors faced concerning visa procedures or accessing information needed to complete business deals in Italy as the two countries work together to maintain business exchanges.

Both leaders showed concern for issues facing both countries and spoke to the importance of meeting to discuss bilateral issues, hosting workshops, exhibitions and forums, and actively growing the involvement of the Saudi-Italian Business Council so it can be an aid to both countries as they work toward a better collaboration in business deals.
