The recently assembled Restaurants & Coffee Shops committee of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has held its first meeting.
The first meeting was used to make members aware of the committee's framework and bylaw, as explained by a member of the Department of Legal Affairs and Arbitration of the chamber. The Restaurants and Coffee Shops Committee is headed by Ahmed Alsaloom.
The committee spoke on its strategic plan for the future and discussed several issues, such as eliminating the challenges many restaurants and coffee shops face with regard to official procedures and needlessly complex processes.
Finally, the committee proposed a comprehensive plan to the Ministry of Industry Commerce and Tourism on how restaurants are classified and what can be done to allow coffee shops to be franchised, promoting their growth.
