An Ajman University of Science and Technology (AUST) lecturer in the College of Engineering was awarded an honorable mention for the Global WIE Inspiring Young Professional Award 2016.

Engineer Tazeen Sharif was given the award by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ Women in Engineering Committee (IEEE WIEC) in recognition of her hard work in the engineering field and her influence on others. Tazeen serves as an IEEE's UAE ambassador.

Attendees celebrated Tazeen’s success and much deserved award while noting her impact on the community through her work and dedication.

“You have clearly embodied this purpose and WIEC is pleased to recognize you for substantive leadership, unconditional dedication, exemplary contribution to IEEE Women in Engineering activities, and laudable contribution in implementing community service projects which support and meet the goals of advancing technology for humanity,” said one IEEE WIEC leader.

Tazeen was also praised by Ajman University and the College of Engineering for her hard work, which has led to the noteworthy award.
