Abu Dhabi University’s College of Engineering has been granted international academic accreditation from the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET for two more of its programs: the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

To be accredited, these programs must comply with rigorous international standards.

“Abu Dhabi University eagerly and continuously strives to offer academic programs that meet the needs of the policy agenda of the Abu Dhabi government and its Economic Vision 2030, and with these two additional accreditations, our College of Engineering has successfully completed a comprehensive plan to enhance the quality of its scientific outputs of engineering programs, thereby elevating the university into the ranks of world-renowned prestigious universities that implement international standards in teaching, scientific research and community service," Ali Al Dhaheri, chairman of the university’s executive board, said.

Dr. Aly Nazmy, interim provost and dean of the College of Engineering, said that this global accreditation is the result of lots of hard work and several years of effort-winning academic and scientific competitions on both local and global levels.

“ABET accreditation is the most prominent recognition of the quality of academic outputs of both programs, especially as it crowns ADU as the only private university in the UAE to have received international academic accreditation from ABET for its Bachelor of Science in Information Technology," Nazmy said.
