Dubai educator earns Alpha Publishing's Teacher Appreciation award

Melody Traylor from the Collegiate American School of Dubai (CAS) won the Alpha Publishing's first Teacher Appreciation award in 2016.

The Teacher Appreciation program gives teachers the opportunity to recognize colleagues who they believe represent everything a teacher should be, and who have made a positive difference in the lives of their students and staff. Specifically, Traylor was nominated for making learning fun, having a passion for teaching and learning, and being an active school community member

"Winning the award would not have been possible without the support of the exceptional team at CAS with whom I am very lucky to work," Traylor said. "I feel that the award should go to the whole team and not to me alone."

The Teacher Appreciation program was created by Alpha Publishing and its distribution partner Smart Education, and is supported by both Teach UAE Magazine and UAE-based education company KDSL Global.

"Alpha Publishing is proud to be associated with the Teacher Appreciation Initiative; we strongly believe that there is a talented pool of teachers within the GCC and MENA region who contribute in a huge way to the successful futures of our students," Alpha Publishing Managing Director Eyad Darawsheh said. "It is fitting that teachers are recognized and applauded for the great work that they do, which often does not get the recognition it deserves, however we hope that the Teacher Appreciation Initiative can in a small way redress the balance."
