King of Bahrain receives Samuel Zwemer award for supporting American Mission Hospital

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Kingdom of Bahrain has announced that Hamad Al Khalifa, king of Bahrain, was presented the Samuel Zwemer award by the Reformed Church in the United States for his support of the American Mission Hospital and health services in the kingdom.
 
The Secretary General of the American Reformed Church, Tom de Vries, awarded the commemorative medal. Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalid Al Khalifa accepted the award on behalf of the King of Bahrain at a ceremony in New York. Al Khalifa discussed his king’s gratitude for receiving the Zwemer award -- an award that aims to promote acceptance and coexistence throughout the globe.
 
Al Khalifa also talked about the regent’s appreciation for the Reformed Church and his desire to strengthen ties between Bahrain and the U.S. Through the American Mission Hospital, the two groups can work to provide cutting-edge health care to all citizens and residents in Bahrain. The hospital shall remain inclusive to all religions while helping create a better community.
 
The Ambassador of the United States of America to the Kingdom of Bahrain, William Roebuck, attended the event and talked about the King of Bahrain’s keenness for the hospital and for bilateral relations between the two countries.
