The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) recently held a seminar about the future of the real estate investment market.

"In light of the booming real estate market in Bahrain and the Gulf Region, our objective in delivering this seminar was to engage real estate professionals in critical debate about the nature of today’s real estate market and the needs of customers," BIBF Deputy Director Ahmed Al Shaikh said. "The coming years are likely to see significant market growth and diversification which will require the development of new strategies to capitalize on this."

Led by Maria Psillaki, an adjunct faculty member at one of BIBF's longtime international partners DePaul University, the seminar discussed the American mortgage crisis, opportunities and risks of real estate compared to other investments, and strategies that could led to sustainable growth and development within the Middle Eastern real estate market.

"This event reflects the tremendous potential and growing importance of real estate in the GCC region," BIBF Academic Center and Quality Assurance Head Keith Sharp said. "There is a need to emphasize the critical role of lessons from the past in planning for future growth in the real estate sector."
