Dubai applauds socially responsible businesses

More and more companies are working to earn a label from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry -- and many are doing their best to keep earning it.

The chamber recently presented 39 businesses with "CSR" labels, honoring them for their corporate social responsibility and sustainability practices. Four of the companies were first-time honorees, while 35 have earned the label multiple times.

"We are very encouraged by the growing number of honorees that we meet each time we host this ceremony, as it demonstrates the label’s ability to encourage other businesses to adopt more responsible practices," Dubai Chamber Chairman Majid Saif Al Ghurair said.

The label recognizes private and public organizations of all sizes and business sectors.
