ICC-UAE discuss 2017 program of action

Dubai's International Chamber of Commerce UAE’s Commission on Customs and Trade Facilitation (ICC-UAE) recently met to approve the commission’s program of action for 2017.
Dubai Trade CEO’s Mahmood Al Bastaki was re-elected as chairman of the commission. International Traders’ Chairman Ram Buxani and the National Association of Freight and Logistics’ President Nadia Abdul Aziz were both elected as vice-chairs.
Hassan Al-Hashemi, secretary-general of ICC-UAE, delivered opening remarks at the meeting, noting the ICC’s prominent role in growing global trade and investment. He mentioned the UAE is the first Arab country to ratify the World Trade Organization Trade Facilitation Agreement. This new trade agreement could lead to a boost in exports by up to $1 trillion per year.
The ICC-UAE Chapter, created in 2004, represents commercial, industrial and business enterprises in the country across the world.
