World Innovation Summit for Health provides training academy to improve patient safety in Qatar

Raising awareness about issues related to patient safety, the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), recently hosted the first edition of the Global Academy for Emerging Leaders in Patient Safety in Doha. Held in association with Weill Cornell Medicine, Qatar, and Sidra Medical and Research Center, the academy educated nearly 100 Qatar-based faculty and health science students on the best practices in patient safety. Northwestern professor raises questions about its branch in Qatar

Northwestern University professor Stephen Eisenman seems to be crying foul, or at least asking questions about the school’s exported journalism program educating students in Qatar. In an interview with the Washington Post published in December of last year, Eisenman talked about things like censorship and human rights violations in Qatar that hamper the efforts of the American universities to maintain a presence there. Ericsson reiterates the role of advanced technology in improving Qatar’s public sector

Ericsson hosted the first LTE Towards 5G Forum for the Public Sector last week in Doha where the telecommunications company highlighted how advanced technology can address the critical and diverse needs of the public sector in Qatar. Qatar Science and Technology Park announces board appointments

The Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development said Dr. Hamad Al-Ibrahim will take over as chairman of the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP). Al-Ibrahim is currently executive vice president of Qatar Foundation Research and Development. The Qatar Leadership Academy, part of the Qatar Foundation, signed an agreement with Aspire Academy that allows the two educational organizations to collaborate in developing Qatar’s academic and sports leaders of the future.
