The Higher Organizing Committee of the 17th Arab Investors and Businessmen Conference (ABIC) will draw a wide variety of presenters and host a number of informative activities Nov. 16 and Nov. 17.

Overseen by

United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ABIC is in keeping with UAE’s Vision 2021 strategy, which is focused on boosting foreign direct investment in the UAE as well as increasing the country’s Global Competitiveness and Ease of Doing Business indexes.

UAE Vision 2021’s goals also include increasing the net inflow of Foreign Direct Investment from 2.66 percent to 5 percent in 2021, raising the Gross National Income (GNI) per capita from Rank 6 (2012) to among the top 10 countries in the world and increasing their Global Competitiveness Index from Rank 12 (2014-15 report) to among the top 10 countries.

While Arab investors have been given priority to augment the economic exchange among countries during the event, other participants will include the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Joint organizers include the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for the Arab Countries (GUCCIAAC), the Arab League, Arab Investment and Credit Export Guarantee in cooperation with Strategic Marketing and Exhibitions.

“In collaboration with our partners, we have arranged significant investment opportunities during the 17th ABIC that are in line with the objectives of UAE Vision 2021, which aimed to build a competitive knowledge-based economy,” Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of the 17th Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference, said.

The event will take place at the Jumeirah Etihad Towers Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
