Mercator, a Dubai-based supplier of software and technology-enabled outsourcing solutions for the world’s aviation industry, said Thursday that Ireland's Aer Lingus Group chose Mercator’s RAPID Passenger system to optimize and automate  Aer Lingus' passenger revenue accounting process into a faster, more streamlined system.

“We need a revenue-accounting solution that is scalable in response to the growth of our company and passenger volumes,” Aer Lingus' revenue accounting manager Rosemary Queenan said. “Mercator’s proven technology will meet those needs. We are looking forward to a very positive business partnership.”

In 2014, Aer Lingus had a fleet of 50 aircraft and a passenger base exceeding 11 million. Aer Lingus now seeks to connect Ireland to the rest of the world with competitive fares and quality service. To do so, Aer Lingus chose to replace its in-house passenger revenue accounting system with RAPID Passenger for better productivity, greater operational efficiency, meaningful business insights and fully integrated revenue-accounting information.

“Across the industry, accurate and timely revenue accounting is mission critical to a carrier’s business,” Mercator's Chief Commercial Office Bernard Donoghue said. “We know that airline leaders want industry-tested solutions that respond swiftly and intelligently to their operating and financial challenges, and we’re delighted to have been chosen by Aer Lingus as they work to meet their strategic objectives.”
