Dubai Chamber participates in Astana Economic Forum

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry office in Azerbaijan recently attended the eighth Astana Economic Forum 2015, which was hosted in the capital, Kazakh.

The office’s participation was part of the Dubai Chamber’s goal to represent Dubai as a lucrative business destination. While at the forum, participants from the Azerbaijan office hosted 15 meetings with business leaders, international companies and government officials.

More than 3,000 people from over 80 countries around the world attended the event, which was titled “Infrastructure: Driver of Sustainable Economic Growth.” There were many representatives at the event, including some from KazNex Invest, the Kazakhstan National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, the United Arab Emirates embassy in Kazakhstan, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and members of the Kazakh Parliament. There were also many global investors who have shown interest in Dubai.

Established in 2008, the annual Astana Economic Forum is one of the world’s largest international forums. The event unites policy officials, business leaders, scientists and Nobel Prize laureates from around the world into one venue where they find solutions for the most challenging economic and social issues of the time. The forum is an ideal setting for leaders from around the world to discuss various business opportunities, such as urban development, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the revival of the Silk Road, among other topics.
