CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Oman again will bring the Omani business community together to debate and discuss crucial corporate social responsibility (CSR) topics at the Grand Hyatt Muscat Oct. 27-29.

The corporate social responsibility gathering is being organized by Informa Middle East and will feature a two-day conference and one-day master class. The aim is to champion corporate social responsibility and sustainability initiatives to drive community development, youth empowerment and social entrepreneurship.

This year’s keynote address will be made by Mohsin Bin Khamis Al-Balushi, an adviser at Oman’s Ministry of Commerce. Al-Balushi will anchor an expert panel of CSR specialists. Those include Houssam Chahin from the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Munther Al Busaidi, assistant dean for training and community service at the College of Economics and Political Science at Sultan Qaboos University.

Hoda Abdelhay, who organized the summit for Informa Middle East, said CSR Oman will serve as a platform to explore the most successful CSR initiatives. He said participants will discuss ways to cement sustainable practices in Oman’s economy and exchange technical know-how and insights.

“Through these enriching discussions and debates, we have been able to develop a more unified vision of how best to drive Oman’s development, bolster mutual cooperation, and realize the hopes and aspirations of the youth,” Abdelhay said.

This year’s themes will include "Understanding and Defining the Role of Sustainable CSR in the Current Omani Market Climate," "Change Management Towards Sustainability" and "Fostering SMEs and Social Entrepreneurship."
