A delegation of United States law enforcement officers led by Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Commander of Special Operations and Anti-Terrorism Bureau Maj. Gen. Horace Frank recently conducted an official visit to the United Arab Emirates.

The visit was part of the international expertise exchange program and participation in field operations.

Frank was impressed with the UAE's developments in police work, use of training plans, and commitment of police leadership to keep up-to-date with technology. He also lauded the efforts of UAE police staff members.

“The visits and joint participation for both parties in the field of security support patrols aim to enhance the skills of the police and to acquaint them with the various techniques of crime fighting,” Col. Khaled Saeed Al Shamesi, head of the UAE's Security Support Department, said.

While in the UAE, the U.S. delegation visited the Weapons and Explosives Department, the K9 Security Inspection Department at the Directorate General of the Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police, the Mussafah Police Station, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

As part of the international expertise exchange program, the Abu Dhabi Police Department's Security Support Delegation has visited various police departments in other countries, including the Los Angeles Police Department.
