Ooredoo takes grand prize at International Business Awards
Ooredoo’s top honors came in the form of three Gold Stevie Awards including being named the Middle East and North Africa’s "Most Innovative Company of the Year." That title came in recognition of Ooredoo's telecom industry leadership in emerging markets. The company currently connects more than 114 million customers worldwide.
Another Gold award gave a nod to the success of Ooredoo's Mosaic Go entertainment app, which provides customers live TV and on-demand videos in Qatar. Ooredoo’s final Gold came for its website revamp for Indosat, the company’s Indonesian brand.
Ooredoo CEO Nasser Marafih said the company is pleased with the Stevie recognitions. He said the company earned the awards by leveraging new innovation in mobile technology.
“We are proud to have been nominated for– and gone on to win– so many awards in a global competition (that) highlights matters that are important to us,” Marafih said. “The Stevie award wins demonstrate the success and impact of Ooredoo's wide-ranging initiatives, developed and sustained throughout the year."
Ooredoo’s 29 awards added up to make it the most recognized brand at the International Business Awards, earning the company the Grand Stevie Award. The Grand Stevie goes to the company that racks up the most wins. Ooredoo was in the top 10 finishers at last year’s awards as well.
