Oman Oil Marketing Co. officials have announced their intention to contribute major funding to four programs that assist families receiving benefits from the Oman Ministry of Social Development.

Principal signers of the agreement include Yahya bin Badr Al Maawali, undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, and Sheikh Salem bin Abdallah Al Rawas, chairman of Oman Oil.

"At Oman Oil, corporate social responsibility is not only a business management mechanism but also a vehicle for the company and our employees to engage with the community," Al Rawas said. "Our 2016 partnership with the Ministry of Social Development is a translation of our commitment and dedication to be a catalyst of change, and we are confident that together we will make a difference in the socioeconomic development of the country."

Programs to receive funding through the agreement will include scholarship fund Kader, which benefits those pursuing undergraduate degrees; a new entrepreneurship program to assist individuals who want to start their own businesses; a program to provide new home appliances to needy families; and a public awareness campaign to spotlight the struggles of families receiving federal aid.
