Qatar Airways announced the release of its new Gulfstream G650ER at the Bahrain International Air Show Thursday, touting it as the world's fastest and largest private business jet.

The jet is designed to be "an office in the sky" that can cross long distances without stopping, traveling from the Middle East to North America -- or from Asia to Africa -- on a single tank of fuel.

It is part of the airline's Qatar Executive subsidiary, which was launched in 2009 to provide corporate jet options. It now includes a fleet of 10 specialized corporate aircraft. The G650ER is the first new jet to be delivered in an order of 30 that will expand the corporate fleet by 75 percent.

Qatar Airways officials said the Qatar Executive G650ER is superior for its range, comfort, large windows, low noise levels, carrying capacity and cabin technology, which includes satellite communication, internet access and local phone access. The jet also comes with highly customizable cabin controls for passenger comfort. The 13 passenger seats fold down into beds, and the air in the cabin is refreshed every two minutes.

The jet is available by private charter.

Qatar Airways is the national carrier of Qatar. It manages 175 airplanes that fly to more than 150 destinations on six continents.
