Dolphin Energy reached an agreement this week with Abu Dhabi Ports to accommodate Dolphin Energy's emergency pipeline repair system (EPRS) in the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad).

Under this agreement, the 11.2-acre facility will house the EPRS equipment that will enable Dolphin Energy to address any damage to subsea pipelines in the Kizad area.

"We are proud to support Dolphin Energy's project by providing ready-built infrastructure and the integrated services needed to ensure the uninterrupted availability of natural energy resources,” Abu Dhabi Ports CEO Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi said. “The EPRS project demonstrates Kizad's capability and facilities to host technologically advanced projects. This facility on Kizad's Modular Path, which enables smooth movement of large plants and equipment to and from Khalifa Port to the customer's site, will also draw attention to our combined efforts to enable economic developments while sustaining environmental needs."

Dolphin Energy CEO Adel Ahmed Albuainain said support from Abu Dhabi Ports is a critical part of risk management and repair processes relating to undersea pipelines. The company’s gas project delivers natural gas from Qatar’s North Field. Dolphin Energy provides approximately 30 percent of the natural gas used by the United Arab Emirates.
