Officials from Saudi Arabia, Nigeria meet to discuss trade relations

Saudi Arabia and Nigeria hold discussion on trade relations.
In a recent meeting between Council of Saudi Chambers Chairperson Abdulrahman Al Zamil and Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, the two officials discussed topics related to the economy and trade relations in depth.

Nigeria -- the 26th largest economy worldwide and the largest in Africa -- and Saudi Arabia, another strong economy, have much to gain from one another. Not only do they share strong economies, but the two countries have in common a culture that is closely related to the religion of Islam. Currently, Nigerians who make a pilgrimage during Haji have been aided by Saudi Arabia, for which Buhari expressed gratitude.

Buhari voiced the desire that Nigeria has to collaborate with Saudi Arabia and hopes that Saudi investors will look into the areas of mining, agriculture and infrastructure, among others Nigeria has to offer.

Additionally, Al Zamil feels that creating and continuing to strengthen bilateral trade relations will aid the demands of their countries' businesses, stating that there is potential to benefit both Saudi Arabia and Nigeria. Before this can take place, there are changes that need to be made, such as the creation of an economic partnership that takes advantage of the resources each country has to offer.
