With the arrival of British Airways BA105 from London Heathrow, dnata assumed full operations at the new Concourse D in Dubai International Airport's Terminal One.

The first 24 hours in operation saw six flight turnarounds, 1,050 passengers and 1,755 pieces of luggage. By the end of 2016, more than 70 airlines will move to Concourse D.

“We are excited to be a part of this milestone in Dubai International’s history -- our team is ready to face the challenge to ensure each passenger and piece of baggage arrives seamlessly in Concourse D,” Divisional Senior Vice President Jon Conway said. “From aircraft appearance, baggage and passenger handling, ramp services and cargo, every person plays an integral part in making sure that operations run efficiently in the new concourse. Our ultimate goal is to ensure our customer airlines and their passengers enjoy a smooth travel experience.”

With 32 gates in operation, dnata anticipates more than 115,400 flights, 16 million passengers with luggage and 408,273 tons of cargo will pass through the concourse in 2016. Dnata will also offer meet and assist services to 250,000 customers. In addition, the new marhaba lounge will offer a mini theater, bedrooms and a variety of other services to guests.
