Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry leaders recently stepped up their efforts to prepare for the fifth Dubai-Hamburg Business Forum set for March 22 in the Dubai chamber's headquarters.

The goal of the event, which began in 2007, is to consolidate strategic partnerships between the Dubai chamber and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. The two chambers organized the event seeking to improve the economic connections and trade relations between the two cities.

The theme of this year’s event is “Internet of Things: Innovation to Connect.” This will broaden the scope of concept for joint ventures and beneficial cooperation within four sectors: logistics, public sector solutions for smart urban living, health and energy.

The Internet of Things (IoT) encourages people to dream of a positive future, as it widens information technology and its expansion throughout the world. Now companies use IoT to alter how they manage physical assets. Consumers use it to monitor their health and fitness. Still others use it to see how cities operate. All of these changes create more opportunities for both Dubai and Hamburg.

“It also encourages the participants to explore joint investment opportunities, signing of strategic partnerships besides strengthening the channels of communication between the two cities’ companies,” Dubai Chamber President and CEO Hamad Buamim said.
