Qatar Islamic Bank (U.K.) CEO Bert de Ruiter has been named partner of the London-based advisory and executive search firm Stormbridge International.

"We are delighted that Bert will be joining us as a partner," Stormbridge Founding Partner Andre Nasr said. "His experience as a banker and chief executive will only continue to deepen the knowledge, credibility and high-level of service that we provide to our clients across both Europe and the MENA region. Stormbridge has grown considerably over the last few years and with Bert's arrival, we are looking forward to continuing that growth."

De Ruiter has worked in the financial sector for more than two decades, with his banking career kicking off in 1992 at ABN AMRO Bank. His past roles have included being a country manager of Lloyds Banking Group's operations in the Netherlands and general manager of Qatar Islamic Bank's Doha-based wholesale banking division.

De Ruiter will work out of the Stormbridge International's Mayfair office. In addition to his partner duties, he will help the firm develop a service dedicated to providing executives with assistance regarding their career goals.

"I am delighted to be joining Stormbridge International as a partner and feel that this was the most interesting opportunity from several that came my way," De Ruiter said. "The current partners, Andre Nasr and Mohammed Al Khalifa, have created a unique business and one that I am excited to become part of."
