Bahraini business council reflects on Egyptian delegation results

Following a recent stopover in Bahrain by Egyptian representatives, Bahraini officials from the Bahraini-Egyptian Joint Business Council met in Bait Al Tijjar, with Othman Al Rayes named as deputy chair, to assess the visit’s outcomes.

Afnan Al Zayani officiated over the conversation as head of the Council’s Bahraini delegation. She is also a board member of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Recommendations included setting up an office for Bahrain’s Economic Development Board (EDB) in Egypt; sponsoring a display of products sourced from Egypt and establishing non-stop flights between Bahrain and cities in Egypt via Gulf Air.

Additionally, it was suggested that the two nations coordinate respective weeklong cultural events as a way of familiarizing constituents with one another’s domains, specifically with regard to cultural, trade and industrial sectors.

Participants also discussed sparking the growth of business cooperation in areas such as jewelry, human resources, training and tourism.

The Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) is a semi-private autonomous agency charged with developing Bahrain’s future economic development strategy, attracting global investment, and identifying opportunities for targeted growth, such as financial services, manufacturing, ICT & logistics.
