AAOIFI – World Bank conference coming to Bahrain

The Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) and the World Bank said this week they will host the 10th annual AAOIFI – World Bank Conference on Islamic Banking and Finance on Dec. 6-7

 in Bahrain.

More than 300 global financial industry experts are expected to attend the conference, which is being organized in cooperation with the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB). 
 
“As a leading global center for Islamic banking and finance, the Kingdom of Bahrain is delighted to support this annual conference dedicated to further raising standards and thus performance and growth throughout the industry,” CBB Executive Director of Banking Supervision Khalid Hamad said.

The focus of this year’s session will be the development of international Islamic capital markets and the standardization of international Islamic financial practices. 

“Central to AAOIFI ‘s mission is driving the development and growth of the Islamic banking and finance industry worldwide and that is what our upcoming AAOIFI -World Bank Conference will focus on,”

 AAOIFI Secretary General Hamed Hassan Merah
said.

The conference will also include training sessions for AAOIFI’s Certified Shari’a Adviser and Auditor and Certified Islamic Professional Accountant professional development programs.
