Abu Dhabi Business Women Council celebrates International Women’s Day

The Abu Dhabi Business Women Council
(ADBWC) recently marked International Women’s Day with the International
Business Women’s Group (IBWG) by hosting Maryam Mohammed Al-Rumaithi, ADBWC’s executive board chair and leader of the Emirates Business Women
Council.

 

ADBWC, which is an affiliante of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of
Commerce and Industry, held the ceremony at the Chamber’s tower in
Abu Dhabi. More than 200 women joined the celebration in representation of public and
private companies from the UAE as well as international authorities
and executives.

 

“The wise leadership of the UAE opened up
many opportunities for women and paved the way for her to succeed,” Al-Rumaithi, said. “Emirati women assumed a distinguished place and have become important economic
competitors in the business and money world.”

 

In her remarks, Al-Rumaithi praised the
support of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the UAE;
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president, prime minister and ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander
of the UAE Armed Forces; and the rulers of the Emirates. She also noted Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak’s significant
contributions to women around the world.
