Abu Dhabi police gear up for international hunting and equestrian expo

The Abu Dhabi Police are stepping up preparations ahead of the 13th annual Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, known as ADIHEX 2015.

The event is organized each year by the Emirates Falconers’ Club (EFC) and will be hosted by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, (ADNEC) from Sept. 9 to 12. The event has grown year after year, becoming a major destination for hunting and equestrian equipment manufacturers.

Abu Dhabi Police officials are anxious for the event to come off successfully and are gearing up to offer a number of services at the event.

Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, director general of security and ports affairs at Abu Dhabi Police, called upon members of the Security Committee to foster safety awareness among the exhibition visitors.

Abu Dhabi Police will focus on providing high-quality services in a way that highlights the UAE’s international stature and honorable reputation, particularly in organizing specialized exhibitions.

Colonel Homaid Al Afrit, head of the weapons and explosives department for the Abu Dhabi Police and chairman of the expo’s Security Committee, said the committee is in the final preparation stages ensure security for visitors. Al Afrit said the doors will be open to all segments of society.

“A customer service center will be established and will refer all inquiries concerning licensing procedures and relevant technical matters to the Security Committee,” Al Afrit said.

He added that leaflets and brochures will be distributed to the exhibition visitors with information on insurance, safety instructions and guidance.
