Abu Dhabi’s third annual Franchise Conference and Exhibition brought together more than 200 companies and 500 exhibitors from around the world at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre last week.

This year’s event brought in larger numbers of Emirati business leaders and entrepreneurs, with more than 100 exhibitors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) taking part.

Mohammed Thani Murshid Al-Rumaithi, chairman of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, opened the conference, which was organized by the Abu Dhabi chamber.

In addition to UAE companies, the conference drew major business leaders from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Egypt, the European Union, India, Hong Kong, Brazil, Malaysia, Cyprus and Canada.

The event is part of the Abu Dhabi chamber’s efforts to support young Emirati entrepreneurs by bringing together a large number of franchising opportunities in the UAE. The event spreads awareness of the possibilities available from franchise businesses.

Helal Al-Muhairi, director general of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, delivered the conference’s opening statements, saying that the conference is an ideal platform to spread the culture of free commercial businesses. He also said the event encourages young UAE-based entrepreneurs to research, be creative and to innovate new business solutions in the nation.

“The related authorities in our country works on linking all the projects and businesses in the public and private sector with the strategy of research and innovation,” Al-Muhairi said.
