Companies in Abu Dhabi are eager to gain more of a foothold in the food and beverage market of Paraguay, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry told a Paraguayan delegation recently.

Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, the deputy minister of the chamber, said it works
diligently to strengthen economic and investment cooperation to help businessmen in Abu Dhabi and Paraguay collaborate on new ventures. He said that although current trade indicators don’t reflect it, this cooperation with Paraguay is important to the United Arab Emirates.

“Such weak numbers push us forward to spend more efforts towards achieving a wide leap in strengthening economic and investment cooperation and increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two friendly countries,” Al-Mahmoud said.

The meeting was chaired by Al-Mahmoud and Gustavo Leite, minister of Industry and Commerce of Paraguay.  Leite said the food and beverages delegation he chairs is one of the largest and most specialized among those visiting the Emirates. He invited Abu Dhabi officials and business leaders to visit Paraguay to learn more about opportunities in food and beverages as well as agricultural industries.
