The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) is launching a dedicated Offshore, Marine and Heavy Equipment Zone for the next conference, which will be situated right on the waterfront.

The new area will allow exhibitors to showcase offshore, subsea and marine products for the gas and oil industry just 150 metres away from the conference’s main exhibition floor. The new area will have eight thousand square meters of space, with a jetty extending half a kilometer into the waters off the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

ADIPEC’s new exhibition space for offshore equipment comes as the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) plans $25 billion of investments in offshore oil projects.

The ADNOC investment is part of the UAE’s strategy to boost its total oil output capacity to 3.5 million barrels per day (bpd) in the next two to three years. That is up from the current output of 2.8 million bpd.

ADNOC leaders expect the amount of oil coming from deep offshore oil reserves to be above 50 percent of the total in the coming years. That gives ADIPEC an added incentive to cater to the offshore exhibitors at the conference.

“ADIPEC is pleased to be the first oil and gas exhibition in the MENA region to dedicate an entire waterfront section to offshore, subsea and marine products and services,” said Ali Khalifa Al Shamsi, ADNOC’s Director of Strategy and Coordination and ADIPEC 2015 Chairman. “The Offshore, Marine and Heavy Equipment Zone will allow exhibitors to showcase their subsea and marine products and services in their native environment, a unique advantage that will offer both participants and visitors a valuable experience.”

The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference is set to kick off at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre Nov. 9-12.
