Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Technical Academy has announced the graduation of 403 UAE nationals who have completed a two-year vocational program focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. The initiative aims to prepare a new generation of technicians for high-skilled roles across ADNOC’s operations, supporting the company’s strategy to integrate advanced technologies into its energy business.
The graduates specialized in areas such as electrical maintenance, instrumentation, mechanical maintenance, and processing operations relevant to the energy sector. They are expected to take up positions throughout the ADNOC Group.
His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, said: “For almost five decades, in line with the UAE Leadership’s vision, ADNOC Technical Academy has nurtured UAE Nationals and empowered them with world-class skills and expertise to build successful careers in the energy industry and contribute to the nation’s continued prosperity. Today, ATA is advancing its programs to integrate the latest, practical applications in AI, robotics, and digital technologies, ensuring trainees are equipped with the skills needed to excel in a rapidly transforming energy landscape. I warmly congratulate our graduates on this proud milestone and wish them every success as they begin their careers across the ADNOC Group.”
Since its establishment in 1978, ATA has graduated over 6,000 UAE nationals. The academy now incorporates hands-on training with advanced technologies such as drones, robotics, remotely operated vehicles for site monitoring and infrastructure inspection, as well as tools for gas leak detection.
The curriculum also includes Neuron 5—ADNOC’s proprietary AI-powered tool—which has contributed to reducing unplanned operational shutdowns by half. Plans are underway to introduce an AI teacher assistant that will provide adaptive learning experiences tailored to each trainee.
In October 2025, ATA formed a partnership with American firm Gecko Robotics. This collaboration is set to enhance training programs further by exposing students to state-of-the-art inspection and automation systems.
These efforts support ADNOC’s ambition of becoming a leading AI-native energy company while contributing toward national goals of workforce Emiratization in critical sectors.
