With a goal of expanding its commercial service offering, Abu
Dhabi Ship Building PJSC (ADSB) announces the opening of its first floating
dock.

ADSB has long been recognized as a top name in the construction, repair
and refit services for commercial vessels and military branches. The floating
dock, located in Mina Zayed, opens the possibilities for ADSB to enter a new
period of growth for business and expansion into untapped commercial services.

“We are proud to announce this latest milestone for Abu
Dhabi Ship Building,” Dr. Khaled Al Mazrouei, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ship
Building, said. “The addition of the floating drydock contributes to our commitment
to expand our service offering, strengthening our local maritime services and
industries, and delivering on the large scale goal of Abu Dhabi’s continued
economic diversification.”

With the addition of the floating drydock, the company can
now service ships that were previously too large for ADSB’s capabilities at
their headquarters in Mussafah.  The size
of the dock can roughly compare to the length of two football fields. Vessels
up to 180m long can dock at the new facility, which measures 180m long by 30m.
The floating dock opened to customers in mid-July, and ADSB has serviced its
first customers to routine drydocking, electrical and mechanical services.
Vessels coming to the new floating dock can receive numerous services including
state of the art hull treatment with the assistance of robotic machines and
tank coating work, structural steel, mechanical, pipe and electrical repairs.

ADSB’s new floating dock plunges the company into the realm
of potential customers from the oil and gas industry. The services and
capabilities offered through the dock afford the company to attract new
customers across multiple sectors across a number of networks from 16 countries
across Europe and Asia.

ADSB is recognized as a leading ship builder and services
contractor both to clients in the region and globally thanks to its quality
work, positive reputation, central location and network of international partners.
