His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, participated in the second ministerial meeting of the Net-Zero Producers Forum held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The discussions at the meeting centered on advancing a fair and realistic energy transition to ensure a sustainable and secure energy future. Key topics included carbon management and methane emissions reduction as vital steps toward tackling climate change.

The ministers introduced the Working Group on Carbon Utilization to explore and promote innovative technologies and methodologies for utilizing carbon dioxide.

Established in April 2021 by Qatar, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and Norway—nations representing 40% of global oil and gas production—the Net Zero Producers Forum welcomed the United Arab Emirates in May 2022. The Forum’s goal is to aid in reducing emissions through clean-energy development, carbon capture technologies, and creating value-added products to support a more sustainable carbon economy.
