Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has announced an expanded partnership with ARRAY Innovation to introduce advanced data modelling and artificial intelligence on its pot lines. The collaboration, revealed at the Gateway Gulf 2025 Investment Forum in Bahrain, aims to provide Alba operators with AI-powered decision support tools.

The project will focus on optimizing key reactions in the aluminium reduction process. This includes improving energy efficiency, optimizing bath temperature, and extending the operational life of pots. The expected outcomes are reduced costs, minimized downtime, improved product quality, greater process efficiency, and enhanced employee safety.

Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chairman of Alba’s Board of Directors, said: “This new phase of collaboration with ARRAY Innovation accelerates Alba’s digital journey.
By integrating advanced data modelling and AI into our operations, we’re equipping our teams with powerful tools to drive smarter, safer, and more efficient decision-making.
This project not only strengthens our operational resilience and safety standards but also positions Alba at the forefront of technological advancement in aluminium production.”

ARRAY Innovation’s Founder and CEO Alaa Saeed added: “This is an exciting and groundbreaking expansion of our work with Alba, that brings ARRAY’s advanced data science and machine learning techniques together with the latest AI tools to truly innovate on the potlines. We’re very grateful to Alba for recognising the success of the solutions we’ve already delivered, and trusting our Quantitative Development and R&D teams with this complex project. The collaboration between Alba and ARRAY will generate valuable insights into key processes and reactions inside the reduction cells that will drive efficiency and safety.”

Alba stated that this initiative supports its ongoing efforts as an industry innovator by adopting artificial intelligence in critical areas while ensuring responsible implementation through expert partners such as ARRAY Innovation. Each solution developed under this partnership is part of Alba’s broader Industry 4.0 strategy.
