A new agreement between Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill Company (GARMCO) will see a group of GARMCO technical staff receive part-time secondment at Alba’s facilities. The initiative is designed to provide practical training and on-the-job experience in areas such as hydraulic and pneumatic systems, supporting the career development of Bahraini employees at GARMCO.

The collaboration focuses on a “Bahrainis training Bahrainis” model, aiming to promote local talent development within the Kingdom. By utilizing Alba’s established expertise, the partnership seeks to keep Bahraini professionals at the forefront of technical advancement in the aluminium sector.

Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Ali Al Baqali, commented: “Knowledge-sharing is the foundation of progress. By opening our facilities and training GARMCO’s employees, we are fostering a culture of learning that benefits the entire aluminium industry in Bahrain. This is Bahrainis supporting Bahrainis for a stronger tomorrow.”

GARMCO Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Rafea added: “At GARMCO, we believe investing in our people is key to sustainable growth. This collaboration with Alba gives our technical staff valuable hands-on experience and sharpens their technical skills. Together, we are committed to developing a highly skilled, future-ready Bahraini workforce.”

The agreement represents an effort by both companies to empower local workers, strengthen industrial cooperation, and support long-term sustainability through human capital development.
