Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has announced a series of leadership appointments as part of its ongoing strategy to promote Bahraini nationals into key management positions. This move is in line with Alba’s structured Bahrainisation and succession planning efforts, which aim to develop internal talent and ensure long-term operational success.
Four Bahraini employees have been promoted to managerial roles. Hussain Abdulla Al Halwachi becomes Manager Innovation and Technology Development, leveraging 27 years of experience in industrial laboratories and metallurgy. He has contributed significantly to making Alba’s Laboratory one of the top ten globally for carbon analysis.
Sayed Amer Hussain takes on the role of Manager Power Station 5 (PS5) Maintenance. With over two decades in electrical engineering, he played a crucial part in delivering the PS5 Block 4 Project, completed in December 2024.
Saleem Helal Yateem has been named Manager Casthouse Services. He brings nearly 18 years of experience across engineering, maintenance, and capital project execution with a strong record in operational excellence.
Abdulrahman Yusuf Almulla steps into the position of Manager Environment, Social & Governance (ESG). Almulla has spent more than ten years at Alba and was instrumental in launching EternAlTM, the company’s first low-carbon aluminium product line introduced in 2024.
Additionally, two Bahraini managers have advanced to Senior Manager roles: Khalid Shareef is now Senior Manager Operational Support Services (OSS), while Hassan A. Qader becomes Senior Manager Casthouse Maintenance.
“These leadership appointments reflect Alba’s disciplined approach to succession planning and Bahrainisation. Advancing Bahraini talent into managerial and Senior Manager roles demonstrates the strength of our internal leadership pipeline and our commitment to developing national capabilities that will lead Alba into the future, while continuing to strengthen our global commercial reach,” said Alba’s Chief Executive Officer.
Alba currently maintains a Bahrainisation rate of 87%, positioning itself as a leader among national companies focused on talent development while maintaining its competitiveness on international markets.
